Niassa Reserve is a 42.700 km2 wilderness area in the North of Mozambique.
Its remoteness, its wildness and the fact that there has been no human intervention in the area in terms of fencing, re-introducing of animals, culling and flora management make it one of Africa’s last properly wild frontiers.

Buffalo Adventures and investors of Mazeze are sole owners of Block R3 located in the middle of the extreme North of the Niassa Reserve, on the Rovuma River, which forms the boundary between Mozambique and Tanzania.
Mazeze, R3 offers some of the best true wilderness hunting in Africa.
Herds of Cape Buffalo, Elephant and plains game such as Roosevelt Sable, Lichtensteins Hartebeest, Kudu, Waterbuck, Niassa Wildebeest, Boehms Zebra, Eland, Chobe Bushbuck and Johnston’s Impala roam freely over this vast landscape
Lion and Leopard are prolific throughout the area due to the unique typography which include mountains, plains, forest and bushveld.
The Rovuma river which stretches for 55km through the area are home to hippo, crocodile and an astonishing variety of birdlife

Our main camp at Mazeze is one of very few camps where you can enjoy the luxuries of this modern camp in such a remote part of Africa. The camp consists of thatched on-suite rooms, big entertainment areas, splash pool and barbeque areas.

Pemba - Mozambique
More than just a destination
Every safari at Mazeze, R3 starts and ends at Pemba. A direct flight from Johannesburg, or Dar Es Salaam will take you to Pemba int airport.
From Pemba a short 1h 30min charter flight will transfer you to Mazeze camp.
Pemba is a tropical paradise on the Indian ocean.
Luxury hotels & beach resorts, mouth watering seafood buffets, white sandy beaches and a variety of activities like deep sea fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving will ensure that Pemba will be the perfect start or end to any safari.
